Frank Nieves
President-CEO of The Puerto Rican/Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Broward County

Born in NY, NY from
Puerto Rican parents and Raised in
Puerto Rico
in a musical family became a Musician Percussionist at the age of 12 having
the honor of playing with Salsa Singers and bands such as: Cheo Feliciano,
Santos Colon, Ismael Miranda, Daniel Santos, Roberto Anglero, Claudio Ferrer and
many others. As a musician, he had the opportunity to travel to the US mainland
and the
Caribbean
learning the custom and culture of the Hispanics as he traveled. Due to his
experience in the entertainment business by 1978 Frank was given the task of
organizing special events at the Holiday Inn, in Isla Verde,
Puerto Rico
. With a 500 seating capacity ballroom he then had to work with private and
public events to keep it operating year round.
Frank held the position of Telecommunications Engineer by 1980 working for main telecommunication
corporations such as: President of TelDar Telecommunications Solutions Inc., VP
Operations ACONI Telecom, Puerto Rico, VP Operation for MR Communication, Puerto
Rico, VP of Sales for Siemens. This exposure to the corporate world gave Frank a vast experience
in management as well as participating in business expos throughout the
Caribbean, Central and
South America
. Frank was able to open markets for Enhance Communications Group, in charge of
the International market in
Colombia
,
Venezuela
,
Salvador
,
Panama
and others. This gave him the need to get to know the Latin communities, their
culture and consumers habits in these countries.
In addition to the above,
some positions, award and committees that Frank has devoted time are: Consultant and
Expert for the Puerto Rican Telephone Company, Executive Director for Enhance
Communications Group International for Central and the South American Market, VP
of The Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of the United States, Inc.
